People Could Not Come Out To Vote Because Of APC Thugs - Musiliu Obanikoro

Senator Musiliu Obanikoro has accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) of using thugs to cause confusion in some parts of Lagos during the April 11 governorship and state House of Assembly elections.

Senator Obanikoro who cast his vote in ikoyi said he notice that there was low turnout of voters which he attributed to the intimidation of PDP members in the state.

Read his statement below after the cut

“the feedback I have been getting, not in terms of turnout, has been that of intimidation, harassment, mobilisation of thugs to disrupt elections in Lagos Island, Oshodi, some parts of Mushin local government, Eti-Osa. These feedback are not good for the system.

We have taken our case to the Court of public opinion and we believe that whatever decisions are taken by the people, we are ready to live with it.

“it was evident that days leading to the elections, that some people have shown some despotic disposition towards this political dispensation. They are bent on sabotaging the will of the people. We are hopeful that at the end of the day, the people will win.”

“Don’t forget that some sections of our society were threatened with death. To that extent, we have to take stock of what transpired in Lagos. From the feedback, it could be responsible”, he added
