Amosun Has Been Declared Winner In The Governorship Election In Ogun State

Governor Ibikunle Amosun of the All Progressives Congress, APC has been officially declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission as the winner of the governorship election held in Ogun State yesterday.

The APC candidate, Governor Amosun polled 306,988 votes while the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP candidate, Mr Gboyega Isiaka polled 201,440 votes.

The result of the Governorship election was announced officially in Abeokuta today by the INEC Returning Collating Officer in the State, Prof.Duro Oni.Amosun was declared winner after defeating other 16 candidates that participated in the Governorship Poll.

The total number of registered voters in the state were 1759754 while 599,486 people were accredited to vote.The total valid votes recorded was 555,430 while total rejected votes was 22,948 with total votes cast being 578,378.
