Since yesterday that the Edo state Governor, Adams Oshiomole, tied the knots with his new wife Lara Fortes. Many people has been reacting to the May 15th popular wedding in Edo state.While some are in support of the Governor for marrying his cape verde wife. some are saying the girl might have married Oshiomole in a bid to get richer since oshiomole is far older than her.
People also pointed at the Governor's daughters not supporting the marriage which was the reason why they did not attend the ceremony yesterday. several pictures of the Governor and his new wife with funny inscription on them are seen on social media before and after the glamorous wedding.
Though the Governor had come out to defend her new wife and even reveals reason he married her "She is very humble, she appreciates the nature of my job and life that I return home late, some times 3am. She understands my weaknesses, she is more or less the mother of the house, the one that has accepted to be the mother of my children.
“I am happy that all my children are at home with her and accept her as their mother even though she is not old enough to be their mother. She has accepted to fill that gap,” he said.
Another person to defend Governor Oshiomole is her daughter, Winifred Isimakhome Oshiomhole, She said in a phone interview with Metro Naija reason why they did not attend the wedding.
”I think my father has finally gotten the heart to move on and Nigerians should learn to respect his decision. I saw so many bad comments and My question is, this people don’t even know half of the story and they just go about writing ignorantly”
On her absence at the wedding, She said, “The
information for the day was not properly circulated, I would say I was
busy taking care of my life, work and my family and I must have missed
out on the plan, I cannot say for the rest of my sisters but I am sure
we were not properly informed. I wish the couple a great married life
and I am sure she will make my father happy”.
