Buhari Visits British PM In London, Discusses Important Issues

Nigeria President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, today may 23, had a meeting in United Kingdom with Prime Minister, David Cameron, at Downing Street London. According to a press release issued by a spokesperson, Cameron and Buhari discussed the challenges facing Nigeria. The two leaders at the meeting agreed that Nigeria needs to fight against corruption to ensure a stable, prosperous and secure Nigeria. The prime minister also disclosed that the British Government will continue to provide military training for the Nigerian army.

The Prime Minister welcomed President-elect Buhari of Nigeria to  this morning. Both leaders congratulated each other on their recent election victories and discussed the challenges facing Nigeria.

The Prime Minister stressed the UK’s wish to work for a stable, prosperous and secure Nigeria. The leaders discussed security in the region and the fight against terrorism, particularly the threat posed by Boko Haram. 
They discussed the need for a regional approach and agreed to continue working together to build the capacity of the Nigerian army, with the UK continuing to provide military training and intelligence support,” the spokesperson said.
