The All Progressives Congress (APC) Director of publicity, Kunle Oyatomi, in a statement, issued today April 10, 2015 in Ogun state alleged that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is plotting to rig tomorrow's House of Assembly election in the state.
According to The All Progressives Congress APC, “PDP is mobilising to snatch victory in 16 of the 26 House of Assembly seats, in a desperate bid to put the PDP in the comfortable position to eventually impeach the governor [Rauf Aregbesola]”.
“Violence is not a component of democracy and any political party that indulges in it, as the PDP allegedly plans to do on Saturday, should be decisively contained and sanctioned by the law-enforcement agents.
“Osun is peaceful and the security agencies should do everything within their power to keep the state peaceful,” he said.
However, The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has denied the reports. According to a statement made by the party publicity secretary, Bola Ajao, The party is not a sponsor of violence.
“We call on the people of Osun State to go to the polls en masse on Saturday and vote peacefully. They should be law-abiding and vote for whoever they want to vote for without fear,” he said.
