The Presidency has cleared issue rising on the safety of the abducted 250 schoolgirls from Chibok, Borno State, Dr okupe saying the Federal Government (FG) has not given up in its attempt to release the girls alive.
Dr Doyin Okupe who is the senior special assistant to the President Goodluck Jonathan on public affairs, while speaking on a TV show on Channels Television said,

“The issue of the Chibok girls is a national tragedy that must be borne with fortitude. Government has not given up on finding and rescuing the girls,”
Okupe also said the Chibok girls’ situation stays a “major thorn in the flesh of this administration”, and guaranteed that the FG would have done anything possible to have them freed if that were possible earlier.
Meanwhile he said the case demands extreme caution to avoid losing the girls while describing the girls’ abduction as not the regular incident involving the seizure of one or two persons, later their rescue must be
handled with utmost care.
“Any mistake will lead to their death. That is why are caught between the devil and the deep blue sea,” he added.
